Local favorites include Menya Sandaime, a Japanese eatery specializing in various types of ramen; Cap’t Loui, offering made-to-order, Louisiana-style seafood boils as well as a raw bar and fried fare; and In Napoli, a spacious eatery serving Southern Italian food. Things to Do

Significantly steeped in history as the birthplace of American film, Fort Lee, where Universal and FOX studios originated in the early 1900s, is now home to the Barrymore Film Center, which features a range of exhibitions on Fort Lee and world cinema history. Programming also includes major film retrospectives, an annual silent film event, foreign film screenings, and showcases for emerging filmmakers. Fort Lee is also known for the Saint Rocco’s Italian Festival, a tradition for more than 90 years. The August event includes food, games, rides, raffles, live entertainment, and fireworks. The summer film festival offers free outdoor movie screenings and music concerts, and the Jack Alter Community Center has a variety of activities for kids sports and retired citizens.
