Welcome to Tenafly

Home to a blue-ribbon school system, this family-oriented community is full of beautiful, luxury homes

Originally surrounded by forests and home to a militia headquarters during the Revolutionary War, Tenafly now features a population of about 15,000 residents and is coveted for its excellent school system, range of luxury homes, and abundance of parks and green lands. This predominantly residential community is punctuated by hills, valleys, and acres of tall, lush trees— characteristics that give this historic town much of its charm. Bordering the municipalities of Alpine, Bergenfield, Cresskill, Englewood, and Englewood Cliffs, the borough is only 6 miles to New York City and many residents commute by car or bus to work in Manhattan. One of the state’s highest-income communities, Tenafly has been ranked as one of the top 10 places to live in New Jersey and is locally renowned for its panoramic views and well-appointed homes.
